Teflon coating is an advanced surface treatment achieved by applying a family of specialty polymers called fluoroplastics to metal and other surfaces, known for their non-stick and low-friction properties. “Teflon” is a registered fluoropolymer trademark of Chemours; related fluoropolymer types such as PTFE, PFA and FEP are applied using similar technology.

Key Properties of Teflon Coating
- Extremely low coefficient of friction
- Excellent non-stick properties
- Stability across a wide temperature range
- Superior chemical and corrosion resistance
Application Method
The Teflon coating process includes incoming inspection, degreasing, surface blasting, fluoroplastic spraying, curing (baking) and final quality control. Layer thickness can range from a few micrometers up to roughly 1.5 mm.
